What to Expect

This South Africa and Mozambique journey is built around contrast, moving from city streets to open ocean, with wine country, whale-watching and Big 5 safari in between. Begin in Cape Town, where Table Mountain rises behind a city made for exploring, from its beaches and eclectic neighbourhoods to the coastal roads curling around the peninsula. Then, follow the coast to Hermanus, where cliff paths overlook Walker Bay and southern right whales arrive offshore in season.

Turn inland for Franschhoek, swapping sea views for vineyard valleys, cellar doors and afternoons that tend to unfold around good food and even better wine. From here, head into Big 5 country, splitting your safari between Kapama Game Reserve and Sabi Sand Game Reserve. After a brief Johannesburg stop, there’s one final shift: Mozambique’s Bazaruto Archipelago, where the bush gives way to warm Indian Ocean water, dhow sails on the horizon and barefoot, island days with nowhere else you need to be.
